About the Position
Generator Source is seeking experienced Industrial Generator Mechanics and Field Technicians to join our team in Brighton, Colorado. As a leading provider of industrial diesel generators, we buy, sell, and service commercial power generation equipment worldwide.
Our focus is on low-hour industrial diesel and natural gas generators, ranging from 20 kW to 2000 kW, from top brands like Cummins, Caterpillar, Kohler, Generac, MTU, and more. With over 40 years in the power generation industry, we are committed to excellence and innovation.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Identify worn and damaged parts through inspections and diagnostic tests.
- Maintain and repair yard/field equipment, including forklifts, cranes, service trucks, welders, trailers, and generators.
- Complete preventive maintenance schedules, install components and parts, perform upgrades, and maintain accurate records.
- Diagnose and repair issues found during initial testing.
- Change filters and perform standard generator services.
- Collaborate with the Service Manager on project progress and estimates.
- Prepare generators for shipment.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Job Requirements/Skills
- At least 7+ years of experience as an industrial diesel engine mechanic.
- Expertise in diesel engine technology and large industrial diesel engines.
- Familiarity with brands like Caterpillar, Cummins, and Detroit Diesel.
- Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues on industrial engines.
- Skilled in estimating task completion times.
- Exceptional communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay: $30.00 – $45.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-time, 8-hour shifts, minimum 40 hours per week
Shop Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
