PM2 Generator Inspection
PM2 Generator Service
PM1 + Oil Change, Air Filters & Coolant Filters Replacement + Load Bank
Once a year, your industrial or commercial generator needs a Preventative Maintenance 2 (PM2) service. This comprehensive annual maintenance goes beyond our quarterly inspections to include critical service intervals that keep your generator operating at peak efficiency and reliability.
This systematic approach ensures no component is overlooked and provides a complete picture of your generator’s health. Each inspection item has been carefully selected based on decades of field experience and manufacturer recommendations.

What’s Included: The Complete 31-Point PM1 Inspection
Every PM2 service starts with our comprehensive 31-Point Inspection process. During this inspection, our EGSA-certified technicians thoroughly evaluate every critical system and component of your generator.
What Makes PM2 Different: Annual Service Items
In addition to the complete 31-Point Inspection, PM2 includes these critical annual service tasks:
Engine Oil Change
Fresh engine oil is the lifeblood of your generator. Annual oil changes remove contaminants, restore proper viscosity, and protect bearings, pistons, and cylinder walls from wear. Clean oil also improves cooling efficiency and extends engine life.
Oil Filter Replacement
A clean oil filter ensures contaminants are removed from engine oil before they can cause damage. Annual replacement maintains optimal filtration efficiency and protects critical engine components.
Air Filter Replacement
Clean air filters ensure proper combustion efficiency, engine performance, and fuel economy. Replacing air filters annually prevents dust and debris from entering the engine, protecting turbochargers and cylinder walls.
Coolant Filter Replacement
Coolant filters protect your engine’s cooling system by removing rust, scale, and other contaminants. Annual replacement prevents cooling system corrosion and maintains proper heat transfer.
Recommended Annual Load Bank Testing
One of the most important components of PM2 service is the **Load Bank Test**. Many generators only run during brief monthly no-load exercises, which means they’ve never been tested under real-world conditions. A generator that starts is not the same as a generator that performs.

What Is Load Bank Testing?
A load bank safely applies a controlled, incremental electrical load to your generator and measures performance at each step. Our technicians simulate real-world conditions, typically at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 80%, to verify the unit’s capability, stability, and cooling capacity over time.
Recommended PM Schedule
(PM1 + All Filters & Oil Change)
(PM2 + Coolant, Hoses, Gaskets & Thermostats Change)
